“UWM HYBRID HEROES” Cardboard, hot glue gun March 10, 2021 Laurence Vallieres' artworks were not fully realized by me. There were numerous moments when I went through a lot of trial and error, and those missteps eventually lead to the project I'm working on now. The bear's fur has a texture similar to that of a genuine bear. It may not appear to be my inspiration, but I am quite pleased with it! Jumana Adams
“Dead Sea” 48x48 Acrylic paint, oil pastels, spray paint January 1, 2022 "Dead Sea (2022)" is an artwork influenced by Jean Michel Basquiat. Spray paint, acrylic paint, and oil pastels are all used in this piece. The colors blue, orange, and white were applied to the canvas with meaning and symbolism in mind; they create an image that portrays waste pollution in the ocean. The dead fish surrounded by plastic shows the ocean's ecosystem dying as a result of human waste. Jumana Adams
“Hunger” 18x24 Acrylic paint, spray paint November 27, 2021 "Hunger (2021)" is an artwork influenced by Jean Michel Basquiat. Both spray paint and acrylic paint are used in this painting. The tropical colors of red, blue, and yellow were applied to the canvas with significance and symbolism in mind; they reflect the fruitful contentment one has after eating on a beach in Hawaii during a sunset. The dinosaur illustrates the lengths to which people will go to obtain food. These are the emotions I go through while cooking. A brief period of joy that aids in the relaxation of my thoughts and the reduction of any negativity that may be present in my aura. |

“Joy” 18x24 Acrylic paint, spray paint, oil pastels January 2, 2022 "Joy (2022)" is an artwork influenced by Jean Michel Basquiat. Spray paint, acrylic paint, and oil pastels are all used in this piece. The colors red, yellow, and light blue signify the difference between having Joy and being Happy, and these media were laid into the painting with significance and symbolism in mind. Joy is depicted by the equally mixed hues; nothing is completely solid; this emphasizes the fleeting nature of joy, whereas happiness lasts longer. Jumana Adams
“Hidden Sorrows” 24x40 Acrylic paint April 1, 2021 I intended to portray buried sadness in the same way that Francis Bacon depicted his subjects' emotional tragedies in their self-portraits. Using color, forms, and shapes, for example. People's trauma was depicted as damaged facial characteristics, while their mental difficulties were depicted as colors. |
